Picture Day

Addi had picture day at preschool today. Her teacher told me last week they would do sibling pictures too if I wanted. So when I took her to school, Eli and I stayed for a bit to get their pictures taken.

I snapped a few pics with my phone but didn't get any great ones. Unfortunately Addi was more interested in scratching her mosquito bites than listening and doing what the photographer said.
Though it looks like Eli is crying or yelling in this one, he actually did awesome. I hope they got one of these sweet smiles on Addi.

The good news is the photographer took lots of pictures and he looked on his camera to make sure he had a few good ones before he moved on. I'm really excited to see how they turn out.

Another One Bites the Dust

Well, it happened again. Another friend has left Arkansas. I have been in Arkansas for almost six years and I have discovered something the hard way. Many people who come here, leave. I have lost count of how many great families have moved here, or were here when we got here, become part of our lives and then move on to another opportunity. Of course each situation was a great thing for their family. But I like to feel sorry for myself in the situation. And today I did just that, felt sorry for myself. I will miss this sweet family so much. I know we will stay in touch, and even come out for a visit. But for now I will miss our frozen yogurt dates, "Bachelor" parties, and most of all watching our kids play together. Addi is down a few really great playmates. I took in as much of these girls as I could get the last week they were here.

I seriously love this family and hope we'll be near each other again someday.

One toe in

Well, I've joined the blogging world. Haven't completely jumped in yet, but I'm working on it. I thought about starting a blog years ago but hesitated for many reasons. When Eli was born and I quit my job I decided it was time. And then a year passed and here we are. (Deep breath) Here we go. First off, I'll explain why I chose to call this blog Drowning.... Party of Four. Over a year ago, Jared and I were on a date at Chilli's (classy, I know) I gave the hostess our last name, Drown, and we sat down to wait. About 15 minutes later she comes into the waiting area and says, "Drowning, party of two." I said, "Um, do you mean Drown?" She looked super embarrassed and said, "Oh yeah, sorry." People have mistakenly said, Brown, or Drawn, but Drowning is by far my favorite. And since Addi and Eli are in the mix we are in fact Drowning....Party of Four.
